Don't forget a water bottle!!!

Somehow the packing list is missing a very crucial item: a water bottle. (We're so sorry about that!) They also need to bring a carabiner (the clip part).

Please do not forget one!!!

Everyone participating in Trek will get a rope attachment (pictured above) to attach their bottle to their belt (guys) or apron (girls). You will be able to refill it along the way!

Padded Bucket Cover Ideas

Here are some Bucket Ideas for Trek:
You will need to open your bucket lid multiple times a day. You can use an Easy Open Lid or a Gamma Lid that screws on easily and seals out water.  Don’t use a normal food storage lid (unless you can easily open it with your hands) or you may not be able to open it on trek. Gamma Lids are available at Wal-mart or Food Storage stores.  You snap the ring on with a rubber mallet, then screw the lid on.

Your bucket will also be used as your chair on trek.  For added comfort, you can purchase a padded stool cover (available online or at a home store). It also can double as a pillow.

They sell foam padded lids: http://www.amazon.com/Padded-bucket-Bucket-frame-black/dp/B003AOQB7Y

You can also make a padded cover.  See the tutorial below.

The Padded Bucket Tutorial

Supplies:
(1) 5 gallon bucket and lid (Mine are from Home Depot because I wanted the orange lid.)
pressboard
batting
1 fat quarter of fabric

Tools needed:
Pencil
Compass
Jig Saw
scissors
staple gun
hot glue and gun

First, I used this pressboard stuff I had in the garage. It was like $8 at Lowes for a HUGE sheet.

Using a compass, I made a circle that fit on the top of the lid. I cut it out with a jig saw. It was NOT a perfect circle. :) But I tried.

Next, I piled up the batting into a square on top of the wrong side of the fabric. I probably used 1/2 yard. I wanted it really cushy.

Place your *absolutely perfect* circle on top.

Pulling the fabric tightly, staple it to the circle. When the circle is complete, cut off excess fabric. It will look something like this.

Now, add LOTS of hot glue and stick it on the lid.

Add vinyl if you want to personalize it.
